Banquet:
The Banquet Committee is responsible for the annual lodge banquet - of course. This year’s banquet celebrates Buckskin Lodge’s 54th Anniversary and we are expecting it to be a big hit. Last year we had a strong showing and this year we want all our new brothers to join us during this lodge social event.

Brotherhood:
It is our duty to help all eligible Ordeal members to learn the customs and traditions of the Order of the Arrow, and to help them become Brotherhood members. This committee helps all eligible members of our lodge to prepare themselves to seal their vows.

Buckskin Tab:
This committee is responsible for printing our lodge’s award winning communication link, the Buckskin Tab. Its purpose is to keep all brothers informed about lodge activities and upcoming events. If you possess any of the skills pertinent to newspaper production or want to learn them, please contact any of us. Note, The Buckskin Tab is currently publishing only on this website. We are always looking for people to help. If you want to help out with this website or take photos at events please email us.

Camp Promotions:
This committee encourages Scout units to participate in outdoor camping experiences, and focuses on persuading units to spend summer camp at Onteora Scout Reservation of Theodore Roosevelt Council. The committee members visit individual units and host a slide show and/or video to promote camping.

Ceremonial:
Our committee is responsible for maintaining the ceremonial outfits and headdresses, keeping the ceremonial grounds in good order, maintaining the totems and other regalia for ceremonial use. We also run all the lodge ceremonies and ensure that they all are expressive and meaningful to all the new arrowmen. Of course this committee is also looking for arrowmen who are willing to participate in ceremonies in many capacities from speaking parts to braves, and will expertly perform these parts on our induction weekends. Our purpose is to teach both, the meaning of the ceremonies and the Native way of life. Anyone interested in learning and having fun call us.

Culinary:
This committee is responsible for cooking the food provided to us by the Food Procurement Committee and we also provide the cooks and kitchen staff. We are always looking for help in the kitchen and dining hall during our fellowship weekends so come on and join the fun.

Finance:
Our committee, with the lodge treasurer as its chairman, draws up the annual lodge budget; issues regular finance reports; handles all mail-in registrations for lodge activities; and assists in the collection and processing of the lodge dues.

This committee is responsible for collecting and maintaining the history of the Buckskin Lodge. We are currently rebuilding the pieces of the past and repairing the displays which we maintain.

The Nominations Committee will begin its work later this year before the Spring Fellowship Weekend to prepare Buckskin Lodge for new leadership. Our committee will prepare a slate of officers for your consideration and you will cast your vote during the weekend. Ordeal:
This committee works closely with the Ceremonial Committee to ensure that the Ordeal is conducted properly. This means following the Ten Induction Principles listed in the ceremonial pamphlets and all necessary props are on hand. This committee is also responsible for training Elangomats for our induction weekends.

Service:
We coordinate all of the service projects on the fellowship weekends for candidates and brothers alike, as well as other service projects at council events that need the assistance of Buckskin Lodge to insure a good program.

Training:
This committee is responsible for conducting the annual lodge training seminar for those who desire a greater understanding of the framework and procedures of the Order of the Arrow. We also run orientation programs to ensure that all new brothers understand the Ordeal ceremonies and the traditions of the Buckskin Lodge.

Trunk:
Our committee stores, inventories and sells the lodge’s commercial supplies and provides new brothers with their Ordeal kit. Items include: handbooks, pocket flaps, neckerchiefs, neckerchiefs, etc.

Unit Elections:
This committee makes all of the arrangements to conduct Order of the Arrow elections in the eligible units in the Theodore Roosevelt Council. We also update this information on the council wide basis for induction and notification purposes.

Vigil Honor:
This committee, with the help of the general lodge membership, selects and conducts the induction of Brotherhood members of Buckskin Lodge into the Vigil Honor. The committee makes available to all members the proper nominating form and a list of eligible Brotherhood members before nominations are conducted.

Where to go Camping:
This committee is responsible for the printing, updating and distribution of the lodge’s Where to go Camping book. They also collect all the research needed for printing the book.

Yearbook: The Editor-in-Chief of a Buckskin Lodge publication, spanning a length of time determined by the Lodge Executive Committee.  At the discretion of the Chairman (Editor-in-Chief) and the Advisor, the establishment of section editors and other positions dealing with the publication may be named.  The Yearbook shall be published using monies raised from sales, and advertising.  It is not necessary, nor mandatory for the Yearbook to be distributed to the entire Lodge.
